The Houston Texans were a part of what will likely be the most exciting finish to a game this season, yet unfortunately they were on the losing end. They will try to hold on to their slim playoff hopes Sunday as they head to New York to face the Jets.

After jumping out to a great start to the 2010 season, things are starting to unravel as they now sit at last in the division and two games behind the division leading Colts. They continue to have no pass whatsoever, ranking dead last in the league allowing over 300 yards passing per game. Matt Schaub has been unable to replicate last year’s pro bowl season but has played solid, throwing for over 2300 yards with 12 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Arian Foster has emerged out of nowhere to become one of the league’s top rushers, leading the league with 920 yards to go with 10 touchdowns. Despite dealing with injuries Andre Johnson has been amongst the league’s most productive receiving threats, ranked in the top ten in both receptions and yardage.

For the second week in a row, the New York Jets were able to escape with a road victory as in both cases it took an overtime defeat. Mark Sanchez has looked strong with the game on the line, and against the Browns connected with Santonio Holmes for a game winning touchdown pass. For the year he has been very efficient, throwing for 12 touchdown passes and only six interceptions. The Jets have been most productive on the ground with the league’s 5th best rush attack, led by rejuvenated LaDainian Tomlinson who has 656 yards and five touchdowns thus far. The defense has once against been dominant against the run allowing only 89 yards per game, but have been slightly vulnerable threw the air allowing 13 touchdowns and coming away with only 5 interceptions.

While it is definitely true that New York has been a bit lucky over the past couple of weeks, the road games at Detroit and Cleveland were much more difficult challenges than originally anticipated. Mark Sanchez has been impressive and should have problem shredding the fraud of a secondary Houston presents. But the Texans offense is still explosive and if this team has any sort of fight left, they should at least be able to cover the points here.
